POLL: Majority of Arizonans Believe Climate Change is Occurring

A majority believe Climate Change is a result of human activity

PHOENIX (Sept 5th, 2019) – More than 70 percent of Arizona voters believe climate change is occurring, according to the latest OHPI Arizona Public Opinion Poll (AZPOP).

The latest poll results indicate that 72% of respondents believe that climate change is happening, with support crossing all demographics. Among party affiliation, 90% of Democrats and 75% of Independents are on board with the climate change debate. Republicans are also embracing the idea, with 55% believing climate change is real.

"The days of being able to simply dismiss climate change as an issue and that human activity isn't the core perceived cause of it is just not a reality among the likely voting Arizona electorate," said Mike Noble, chief of research at OH Predictive Insights.
